World War II D-Day




June 6, 1944 was the beginning of a massive invasion of France that provided a foothold for the Allies in Nazi-controlled Europe. American, British, and Canadian troops landed on five seperate beaches near Normandy. It is estimated that over 4,400 men were killed during the invasion.
