World War I

World War I was one of the largest military engagements in world history. All the world's most powerful countries were involved and employed the use of chemical warfare, tanks, and fighter aircraft for the first time on the battlefield. The end of the war led to many new nations being formed as revolutions broke out in many others. The following documents explore many important topics about the war, including the movement of American troops to Europe and the battle between fighter planes.
