French Revolution: March on Versailles
One of the first and most important events of the French Revolution, the March on Versailles was started by women protesting the high price of bread. The crowd mixed with other revolutionaries, and they raided the local armory before besieging the Royal Palace in Versailles. The following documents provided first-hand accounts of this important event.
