Q. Mr. President, can you speak on the terrorist—the terrorist attack, sir? Any more information you can offer?
The President. You've all gotten my statement. I'll have more to say in the next hour or so, following what's going on in New Orleans. And I'll be happy to do that.
Investigation Into the Attack
Q. Do you understand if the person crossed the border?
Q. What was your reaction when you heard the news?
The President. I'm not going to comment on any specific yet. All—I've contacted every agency in the Federal Government, as well as the State. They're all coordinating to get—get to the bare facts so we know what the facts are.
Suspect in the Attack
Q. Can you say whether he was a foreigner or if he was a domestic?
The President. I'm not going to say anything until I get all the facts in front of me.

The President. Again, I—I'm not going to comment until I speak to the group later. I've spoken to every member of the agency—from the CIA to the—to our national security team to our FBI, NSC—and I'm—we're getting—gathering all the—and I spent a lot of time with the Governor—with the mayor.

The President. Well, my reaction was one of anger and frustration. Thank you.

NOTE: The President spoke at approximately 11:30 a.m. on the tarmac at the Delaware Air National Guard Base prior to boarding Air Force One en route to Camp David, MD. In his remarks, he referred to Gov. Jeffrey M. Landry of Louisiana; and Mayor LaToya Cantrell of New Orleans, LA. A reporter referred to Shamsud-Din Jabbar, suspect in the vehicular attack in New Orleans, LA, on January 1. The transcript was released by the Office of the Press Secretary on January 2.
