George Grossmith
George Grossmith (December 9, 1847-March 1, 1912) was an English entertainer and light opera singer who performed songs and sketches he wrote himself. He is famous for acting the characters of a series of nine memorable characters in the comic operas of Gilbert and Sullivan in works such as H.M.S. Pinafore, The Pirates of Penzance, and The Mikado. With the assistance of his brother, Weedon, he wrote the comedy, The Diary of a Nobody (1892).
