Euripides

Euripides
Euripides (c. 480-406 BC), Greek dramatist, was one of the three great writers of Greek tragedy. He wrote more than 90 plays about mythical heroes but cast them as ordinary people in extraordinary situations. Through his plays he criticized the cultural ideas and norms of his day and thus was not very popular in his lifetime. He was a close friend of Socrates.
