Thomas Babington Macaulay
Thomas Babington Macaulay (25 October 1800-28 December 1859) was a popular English historian whose most famous work was The History of England from the Accession of James the Second. This five volume work was not published in full until after his death. He also wrote poetry, including the collection Lays of Ancient Rome, which contains the famous poem "Horatius."
