Sir Walter Scott
Sir Walter Scott (August 15, 1771-September 21, 1832) was a famous Scottish novelist, playwright, and poet. His novels and poetry are regarded as some of the best of the 19th century. His famous works include Ivanhoe (1819), Rob Roy (1817), The Lady of the Lake (1805), and the Tales of My Landlord series (1816-1832). Scott was also a prominent member of the Tory party in Scotland and served as President of the Royal Society of Edinburgh from 1820 to 1832.
