President Obama: Immigration Reform

President Obama felt the immigration laws were out-of-date and didn't serve the function they were supposed to. He took action to fix the system and meet the modern immigration needs by proposing that the govenrment crack down on illegal immigration at the border, deporting felons, requiring criminal background checks, and starting a forgiveness program that allowed illegal immigrants to stay in the country for an ammount of time as long as they start paying their fair share of taxes.
