Samuel Pepys


Samuel Pepys (February 23, 1633-May 26, 1703) was an English member of Parliament and naval administrator. Pepys is most famous for a decade long diary he kept in the early years of his life. In addition to his daily life, the diary chronicles many of the important events of the English Restoration period in British history. As the Secretary to the Admiralty, he made many reforms to the British Navy, transforming the naval administration into an efficient organization.
