Emily Dickinson

Emily Dickinson
Emily Elizabeth Dickinson (December 10, 1830-May 15, 1886) is considered one of the most gifted poets in American literature. Born in Massachusetts, she was heavily influenced by American author Ralph Waldo Emerson and many of her poems reflected the withdrawal and disullusionment of American intellectuals due to the stains of the American Civil War. She spent most of her life in seclusion and never married, shying away from society after turning 30 years old.
