Robert E. Lee
Robert E. Lee is best-known for commanding the Confederate Army during the Civil War. As an astute, aggressive tactician, he defeated a superior Union Army in most of their confrontations. Ultimately, heavy losses forced Lee to surrender to Union commander Ulysses S. Grant in 1865. The following documents explore the successes and failures of his command.
