Edmund Burke
Edmund Burke (January 12, 1729-July 9, 1797), Irish statesman, author, orator, and philosopher, served for many years in the British House of Commons and is regarded by many today as the father of modern conservatism. He is best remembered for his support of the American Revolution and opposition to the French Revolution.
