Laurence Sterne
Laurence Sterne (November 24, 1713-March 18, 1768) was a British clergyman and novelist. During his life, Sterne was heavily involved in local politics, gaining a reputation as an intense politician. While he published many of his sermons and memoirs, his most famous work, The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman, is one of the first stream-of-consciousness novels that doesn't follow a straightforward or conventional time sequence.
