Samuel Butler

Samuel Butler
Samuel Butler (December 4 or 5, 1835-June 18, 1902) was an English novelist. After graduating from Cambridge, he questioned his faith and immigrated to New Zealand to become a sheep farmer. Butler wrote about his experiences in New Zealand in A First Year in Canterbury Settlement, but his best known work is Erewhon, an Utopian satire.
